Three Forks, Montana

A Southwest Montana Hub, Three Forks is a bustling rural community.

Fisherman's Delight!

Ever changing, Three Forks was once an unnoticed Gallatin County farming suburb now discovered!

Located at the Headwaters of the Missouri and at the intersection between Helena and Bozeman (1-90 & 287W), Three Forks has unparalleled fishing opportunities, a temperate climate that allows year-round golfing, an easy commute to Bozeman, Townsend, or Helena, and an inviting community.

Lewis and Clark Landing Site

For the history buff, the Missouri Headwaters State Park is a beautiful walking, biking, fishing, and floating recreation area.

Lewis and Clark camped at the park during their 1805 expedition, and because of this history, it was labeled as a national landmark in 1960.

This waterway also served as a major lumber shipping route, and the park has sign placards throughout to highlight the impact of this corridor.

Sacajawea Hotel and Three Forks Cafe

The Three Forks Cafe is one of Erin's favorite Three Forks stops, as the chicken strips remind her of cafe lunches with her Grandfather.

Also not to be missed, the Sacajawea Hotel is a preserved historic gem with fine dining (and unlimited crab leg specials!) This boutique inn is a beautiful location for weddings, live music and catered events.

Flood Plain Plan

This more temperate climate and amazing fishing come with a cost, and most of Three Forks has a 1% chance of flooding... a risk its residents have accepted in exchange for the community they love.

Ever vigilant, the Three Forks Government has developed a flood plan and has the tools to help its residents be prepared in case of such an event.
